The goal of this course is to provide an introduction to the key concepts and skills related to the effective implementation of intensive behavioural intervention. There are many different approaches to behavioural intervention and this course will focus on a range of empirically supported approaches. Detailed information and training on a particular approach should be provided to you by the families and qualified service providers with whom you will come in contact.<br /><br />This 10-module course includes some of the following topics: an introduction to BI foundations and Autism Spectrum Disorders; working on a multidisciplinary team; discrete trial &amp; milieu teaching; visual support strategies; including children diagnosed with an ASD in school and community environments; and augmentative and alternative communication.
